We take pride in introducing Villa Modarawattha as a Villa of absolute serenity and tranquility. Ideally situated on the banks of the famous Koggala Lake which is home to the historical Madolduwa Island and many other smaller islands such as Cinnamon Island etc; Great writers of the likes of Mr. Martin Wickramasinghe & Sir Leonard Wolfe, onetime Government Agent of Hambantota, would have had more than one reason for writing many stories based on these historical Islands.

The Villa itself is a typical Dutch House which is over 150 years old. It has been completely refurnished to retain its original splendour and glamour to blend with the modern times. Consisting of four luxurious bed rooms with en-suite bath & toilet complete with hot & cold running water, four poster beds inclusive of all amenities, adequate fresh air with a very soothing and simple design to create the right atmosphere for a retreat. The guests are pampered by our well trained butlers and are free to relax on the verandas over looking the waters of the Koggala Lake while watching the local fishermen cast their nets and the boats carrying holiday makers to and from the Islands.
 

Dooland de Silva, the once head gardener of the famous Bevis Bawa and now the proud owner of ‘The Breef’ has transformed a scrub jungle into an Eldorado. The lush lawns, the pergolas, the ponds that attract many a species of bird life, paths, and shady corners, all designed to give the Villa a true sense of harmony which makes your stay here very close to nature. Seated watching the sun go down, the birds flutter in the water, sipping a freshly brewed cup of tea or a mock tail would definitely stir your senses. As we take great pride in the Villa, we take even greater pride in our garden, which is the ultimate.
